Here is a very cool video of a beaver grooming its fur that I filmed earlier this summer. The video gives an up close look at the beaver’s incisors. Their incisors are orange because the outer enamel has a high iron content, which give the teeth strength for chewing through wood. This beaver is using one of its hind feet to groom. On each hind foot, beavers have one claw with a split nail, or double nail, that they use like a comb during the grooming process. #beavers #wildlifephotography #Wildl

Extended beaver grooming session! Sometimes when beavers stop to groom their fur it is just a quick 60 second touch up, but other times the beavers take their time and do a thorough grooming routine.
